This Civil Engineering company are currently looking to expand and need an Estimator due to increased workload. The successful candidate will be joining an established team of professionals who are passionate about their industry.

The ideal candidate;

3 years Estimator Experience.3 years Civil Engineering Contractor Experience.Professional qualifications preferred but not essential.Specific working knowledge of; Supply chain, programming, construction techniques.Team player, ability to work under pressure & strong time management skills

Duties and Responsibilities

Produce submission documents in line with requirements.Prepare and analyse costing for tenders.Co-ordinate with clients, designers, suppliers and sub-contractors at tender stage.Produce tender program.Ensure adequate provision in tenders to cover safe methods of work, necessary welfare facilities and the requirements of the pre-tender Health and Safety plan.Plan as to allow suitable and sufficient time to carry out work activities safely and without unnecessary risk to personnel.Undertake risk and value-engineering activities.Identify, analyze and develop responses to commercial risks.Prepare pre-contract handover information for Contracts team for successful tenders and chair handover meeting.Produce bill of quantities where required.Maintaining awareness of the different forms of contract in current use.Maintain tender records on database, including updating tender results.Assist Senior Estimator to produce weekly estimating department programs showing current bids in preparation, personnel resource allocation.Carry out a site visits when necessary to fully assess the scope of work required.Produce cost / income forecasts for schemes where milestone payments are stipulated to ensure a positive cash flow is maintained.Maintain a register of ‘Competitor Contact’ in accordance with the company’s Competition Law Compliance PolicyRead and understand their responsibilities to comply with the Group Health and Safety Policy

Salary: £30K - £50K
